This time of year can be tough on every college student. The fall season signals midterms, midterm grades, and the semiannual mid-semester breakdown.  Do you know what you need? Well I do. You need a girl’s night. Absolutely nothing beats hanging with your best friends, crafting, laughing, drinking, and snacking.  Here is the perfect plan for the best fall-themed fiesta ever.

1. Supplies! Some of these items you may already have and if you do, then good for you, Glen Coco! You go, Glen Coco! If not, then you need to run to the store stat.  I suggest you gather most of these supplies from Hobby Lobby (because they always…ALWAYS have a coupon) or Walmart because they also always have low prices.

2. You need a drink. Every high quality party has a signature beverage so why should this one be any different. You deserve high quality!

Apple Pie on the Rocks

1 oz vanilla vodka

1 oz. fireball

4 oz. apple juice

Pinch of cinnamon

Brown sugar on the rim (because we are classy)

Mix all together and enjoy!

3. Put that solo cup down! What are you? A monster!? No. This is ladies night; we are drinking out of mason jars. Since this is a fall-themed fiesta, of course, we have to spruce them up.

Supplies:

Mason jar

Fake fabric fall leaves

Mod podge

Paintbrush or sponge

Steps:

  1. Clean the outside and inside of the mason jar.
  2. Use your brush or sponge to paint a thin layer of mod podge around the jar.
  3. Lay the leaves flat on top of the Mod podge overlapping them because that’s cool.
  4. Paint another thin layer of Mod podge over the leaves.
  5. *BAM* you’re done. Let dry and fill’er up!

4. Now you and all of your friends are hungry. I have the perfect quick recipe that is great for a group (and thanks to the fabulous Chocolate Covered Katie, it’s healthy too!).  If you are planning on making this for a large amount of people, you may want to make a double batch…or triple and keep some for yourself.

Pumpkin Cheesecake Dip

1 can of pumpkin (15oz)

1 container of cream cheese-style spread

2 tsp of cinnamon

¾ tsp of pumpkin pie spice

½ tsp pure vanilla extract

1/3 cup sweetener of choice to taste (*Note: liquid sweeteners will yield a much thinner dip, so either powdered sugar or stevia is recommended)

Combine all ingredients and mix very well. (A food processor is best, but this can be done by hand with a lot of stirring). Serve as a dip, with graham crackers, gingersnaps, or fresh fruit.  This will keep in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.

5. If you haven’t been to Radar Family Farms (recently featured in our article, Four Fun Places to Visit in Central Illinois During October) then you need to right now.  Make a trip of it with your girlfriends before ladies night!  This adorable spot is the best for picking out a pumpkin.  With your little orange bundle of joy, you are going to create the perfect #basic craft: a monogramed pumpkin.

Supplies:

Pumpkin

White and gold paint (or whatever colors your heart desires)

Double Sided Adhesive Sheet

Glitter

Steps:

  1. Lay down some newspaper so you don’t make a total mess.
  2. Paint your pumpkin and the stem.
  3. While that dries, draw your initials onto the double sided adhesive sheet.
  4. DON’T PEEL OFF THE ADHESIVE PAPER YET.
  5. Cut out your initials.
  6. Once your pumpkin has dried, peel off the paper on one side and stick it to the pumpkin.  Make sure it lays flat on the surface.
  7. Peel off the other side of the adhesive sheet.
  8. Pour the glitter on the pumpkin so that it completely covers your initials and then shake off the excess sparkles onto the newspaper.

Her dream is to someday move to Neverland where she can be young forever and never have to grow up...but if that doesn't work out, her fall back plan is to live in a tiny, but extremely chic, studio apartment in the big city.
