In Megan Hanson’s collection you’ll see lots of beading, embellishments, and feminine silhouettes. This will be her second time designing for the ISU Fashion Show and we can’t wait to see her looks on April 13th.
Her Campus: Have you always been a fashion major?
Megan Hanson: At orientation freshman year I was a communications major, but decided it wasn’t something I wanted to do so I chose to pursue fashion design and merchandising.
HC: Why do you love fashion?
Megan: I love fashion because an outfit can make you feel a certain way and I can always try new styles or looks.
HC: What is the inspiration behind your collection?
Megan: The inspiration behind my collection is female empowerment. My pieces have feminine silhouettes and details.
HC: What is something interesting about yourself that sets your apart from other designers?
Megan: Something that sets me apart from other designers is that I like to design looks that are minimal pieces, but have an added fun element like beading/embellishments.
HC: Who is your biggest fashion inspiration?
Megan: My biggest fashion inspiration is Blake Lively because I pull a lot of inspiration from her looks. She’s always trying something fun and exciting.
HC: Give us a little idea about what we can expect to see in your collection.
Megan: You can expect fun embellishments and sheer fabric from my collection.
HC: I always love when pieces have little embellishments! It adds so much character! Looking forward to seeing your collection, Megan!
