Puppies and kitties and ponies, oh my!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Humboldt chapter.
Miranda’s Rescue was started in 1995 by Shannon Miranda, who was born and raised in Ferndale. With his passion for animals, Miranda created an organization that rescues all animals, big and small, to find them homes or to keep them at the sanctuary in Fortuna. Miranda’s Rescue does not turn any animal away and is a no-kill organization. They have pet adoption appointments available for cats, dogs and any animal listed on their site. Miranda’s Rescue CFO, Dean Paris, helped the organization grow throughout the years, incorporating Miranda’s Rescue thrift stores and outreach programs, including pet therapy! The rescue always appreciates donations to the animals. To learn more or donate, visit www.mirandasrescue.org.

Miranda’s Rescue’s cat sanctuary and adoption facility takes good care of their kitties. While at the rescue, Cats have access to warm beds in the Cat Condo and open area to scamper, jump and hang out with other feline friends. Miranda’s Rescue cats are happy and loving, ready for you to take them home! The cat adoption application is on their website. | Stephanie Giles

These are just a few of the 26 baby male goats that were rescued on Friday, February 24. These baby goats were so happy to be rescued, and so hungry! They were even sucking on the volunteer’s fingers looking for food! They were fed and full by the end of the day and are happy to be new residents at Miranda’s Rescue. | Stephanie Giles

She has also worked as a writer, photographer, and designer for the campus magazine, Osprey. Zoe is ecstatic to be starting HSU's Her Campus branch. With hopes to one day work at a major women's magazine, Her Campus is a step in the right direction. Aside from being an aspiring journalist, Zoe enjoys performing (she's danced for five years, played the cello for 10, and done musical theatre for 12!), bike riding, and painting.
