Interior design fair Habitare in Helsinki introduced new design trends. Here are our favorites.
1. Dark and rich colors. Pick green for your decor. Olive, moss and forest green are very in right now. Combined with navy blue and red, the shade of red wine makes for a warm and cozy room.
2. Velvet in large surfaces. The fair was filled with velvet couches and ottomans. An easier and cheaper way is to buy velvet pillow cases for your throw pillows. In the colors mentioned above, of course.
3. Golden details. All the metallic details in your home should now be gold. Candlesticks, picture frames and all the little knickknacks. Make little arrangements of these on your coffee table or bookcase.
4. More is more. At least when it comes to throw pillows. Cover your couch in them, and when the couch is full add more on the bed. Same goes for other things too. When setting the table for a dinner party put a plate under the bowl, bring all the glasses to the table at once and have a center piece made of flowers and candles.
