Pinkberry: The Premier Party in Harvard Square!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Harvard chapter.

Pinkberry is the fro-yo that started it all- and the one and only original frozen yogurt bar has moved from sunny CA just in time for spring in Cambridge! Last Thursday, March 7 at 5:00 pm, Pinkberry, opened its doors for the first time to a select group of supporters (including HerCampus members!) to test out the yogurt and celebrate the store’s grand opening.

It was the perfect day for fro-yo (even the sun finally decided to come out for the opening party)- and Pinkberry didn’t disappoint! Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by the entire Pinkberry staff, who were eager to please. Samples of the tart yogurt were passed around, and everyone got to order a cup with their choice with toppings for free! Their yogurt is similar to the Berryline concept, but with more yogurt and topping options to choose from- they even a breakfast menu! I was particularly impressed by their chocolate yogurt, which was exceptionally rich and delicious for fro-yo. Everyone had a great time and some even went back for seconds! We all agreed that the bright colors, a clean feel, and friendly workers are all ingredients that make Pinkberry as fun and sassy as the yogurt they serve.

Russell House Tavern also joined in the celebration, and hosted a party in Pinberry’s honor. A sophisticated crew could be found here, sampling appetizers and cups of the Original Tart yogurt provided by the Pinkberry caterers, and sipping the limited-edition Lychee Cocktail- created by the Russell House bartender just for the occasion! All in all, it was a fantastic event, and a perfect housewarming party for Harvard Square’s newest resident.

But if you missed out on this bash- don’t fret! The store officially opened to the public Friday morning, so you can still come celebrate spring by treating yourself to the guilt-less, but oh-so-satisfying Swirly Goodness of Pinkberry.
