Fall 2016 Back to School Survival Kits

Last week at Her Campus Hamilton we got our Fall 2016 Back to School Survival Kits! We got lots of cool stuff that we’re very excited about – let’s take a look:          

• The Roommate Book by Becky Simpson: A very cute book from Andrews McMeel Publishing, about living with other people. Simpson offers helpful advice about sharing, cleanliness, and throwing parties, to mention a few. The book also has fun quizzes, so you can find out what type of house plant you are or decide whether it’s okay to eat their food or not. Whether you live in a Bundy double or a Dark Side suite, this book is a great way to get used to living with your roommates.
• Adulthood is a Myth by Sarah Andersen: Another Andrews McMeel Publishing book, this one is full of cute comic strips about the trials and tribulations of being an adult. I personally can’t believe that technically, legally, I’m an adult, so this book is definitely relatable.
• Camelbak Forge Divide Mug: This is a great travel mug, and we got them in a versatile white color this semester. Now that it’s getting colder, I’m ready to fill this up with coffee or tea from Commons before heading to class. Helping the environment and getting more caffeine – perfect!
• The DivaCup: It might seem a little intimidating at first, but the DivaCup serves as a totally viable alternative to expensive, disposable pads and tampons. You can wear it for up to 12 hours at a time, which is great if you have a busy schedule.
• Koozies from Flying Colors Apparel: Koozies are always a fun thing to get, and ours are cute black and pink ones. Flying Colors Apparel is a brand that makes fashionable spirit wear for women. Unfortunately, they do not seem to have any clothes designed specifically for Hamilton at this time, but you can select your own colors!
• Feeling Beautiful™ Face Masks: These face masks from Freeman Beauty come in several different options. We got an Avocado/Oatmeal Clay Mask, a Cucumber Peel Mask, a Charcoal & Black Sugar Polishing Mask, and an Apple Cider Vinegar 4-in-1 Foaming Clay Mask. I don’t usually use face masks, but I really like these!  They’re perfect for a night in, or for feeling pampered before a night out.
• I <3 JUICY COUTURE Fragrance Sample: This is a really nice scent, because it’s noticeable but not too overpowering. It has notes of mandarin, jasmine, and patchouli. If you’re looking for a new perfume, check this one out!
• Sheer Energy Sheer Panty Medium Support from L’eggs: Black sheer tights are always useful! These will be great for class, weekend nights, and even job interviews, depending on what you wear them with.
• Maidenform Love the Lift ® Push Up & In Lace Demi Bra: We got one bra in our Survival Kits Box, and it’s great! The lace is very pretty and it has the ideal amount of padding. I’ll definitely be looking into more Maidenform bras.
• Monistat Complete Care Instant Itch Relief Cream: Prescription strength cream without the prescription; a great over-the-counter option for yeast infections!
• Rimmel London makeup: I love using Rimmel because they have great products at a decent price, so I was thrilled when I saw we got samples from them. I’ve been wearing the 24HR Supercurler Mascara frequently; it adds volume and curl to your eyelashes without having to curl them! We also got Colour Precise Eyliner in a very pretty bright blue color – it also comes in white and black. Lastly, we received The Only 1 Lipstick in three of its twelve beautiful shades.
• Wearsafe Tag and 6 months’ service: This is a personal safety button that will alert emergency contacts if you press it when you feel unsafe. It will send them your location and stream continuous audio so they know what’s going on and how to help you.
