Campus Celebrity: Red Weather

Red Weather, hosted Howl in the Glen this past Saturday, where a group of about twelve students read the poem, “Howl,” by Allen Ginsberg. The poem was read a little ways into Root Glen and there was an audience of about seven to eight people. 

What is Red Weather?

Hamilton College’s Literary Magazine. They publish a magazine of poetry, fiction, and art from student submissions each semester.

What is Howl in the Glen?

Student Volunteers take turns reading from Allen Ginsberg’s poem “Howl” to an audience of students. The event is held during the fall in the Root Glen. 

When was it?

This semester’s Howl in the Glen was held last Saturday, the 1st of November.

Why the Glen?

The Glen removes the participants from the campus and insulates the event in the peace of the Glen. It adds to the poem’s commentary on society.
