How long have you been playing squash for?
I have been playing squash for six years. My mom’s friend was a squash coach and I played with her a few times before high school. I then picked it up during high school and liked the sport as well as the team.
What is the best part of being on the Hamilton College Women’s Squash team?
It is really nice to be a part of a group of girls who work together and push each other to be better.
When is your first match?
Our first tournament is the first weekend of Thanksgiving break. The tournament includes Tufts, Stanford, Wellesley, and Hamilton, and will take place at Harvard.
What is your team’s goal for the season?
Our goal is to build the team up after the loss of seniors last year. Wins won’t be handed to us as easily and will be the result of hard work.
What is your favorite part of Hamilton?
I think that the small size of the school makes it feel like a close-knit community.
Do you have advice for Jans?
Get involved early on when you arrive on campus. It might be difficult to get to know everyone right away but you need to put yourself out there and meet new people besides the other Jans.
