Dorm-Room Recipes: Cherry Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at GWU chapter.

So it’s no secret that one of DC’s claims to fame (you know, other than being the capital of the United States) is its beautiful Cherry Blossom Festival. It’s a fun celebration that marks the beginning of spring in DC, and the scenery is nothing less than breathtaking! There are a lot of super cool events going on to honor the cherry blossoms, and here are a few recipes (no-frills and doable in a college dorm kitchen!) to inspire you and get you in the mood for the Festival!

  1. Cherry Turnovers (via Hungry Girl)

Hungry Girl did us all a solid in remaking a classic cherry turnover into this healthier alternative.

  1. Cherry Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast (via Babble)

Is it breakfast? Is it dessert? And most importantly…does it matter?!

  1. Very Cherry Almond Muffins (via Sandra Lee)

Like “fetch,” sometimes baked-from-scratch cupcakes just aren’t going to happen. Use the shortcuts in this recipe instead, and brag to your friends about your labor-intensive efforts later.

  1. Cherry Bonbon Cookies (via Yummly and Gooseberry Patch)

These are ADORABLE. Just don’t eat them all at once! (or, you know, do…)

  1. Chocolate-Cherry Bomb Oatmeal (via Chocolate Covered Katie)

Chocolate for breakfast? Filling oatmeal? Chocolate Covered Katie may have just answered all our breakfast prayers—ever.

Now you have no excuse to cook something delicious and seasonal. If you try any of these recipes, let us know!
