Let’s be real, it sucks being a broke college kid who loves makeup. What’s even worse is deciding to spend the last bit of money you have on that new full-sized product you eyed up at Ulta or Sephora and then realizing that you wasted $30 on it because it doesn’t work how you wanted it to. Luckily, there is a solution to this problem, and it’s called ipsy!
Ipsy is a company that sends you a bag of high-end makeup samples for only $10 a month. Sometimes the items are full-sized, and sometimes they are deluxe samples. The best part is that when subscribing, you take a survey which helps ipsy to choose beauty products they think you will like based off of it. In the survey, you can list your favorite colors and shades for multiple types of makeup, what skin type you have, what your favorite scents are, your favorite makeup brands, and so much more. It helps ipsy send you products that you will actually buy and use in the future. It makes you feel special in a way because your bag is personalized for you!
The reason that I love ipsy so much is that I am only paying $10 a month for five items and a cute bag! Seriously, the bag is such a fun bonus! If I end up not liking an item, it isn’t a big deal because I didn’t spend the full $30 on it. On the other hand, if I end up loving an item, I can buy the full product and have a cute little travel-sized one to carry with me!

1. The Mysterious October Bag
Each month ipsy creates a cute bag to send all of your products in. This month they paired up crimson and lace to create a spooky/mysterious October bag! Look at the cute little bag on the zipper!
2. JM Solution Water Luminous Jelly Cleanser
I love cleansers, and I am pleased with this one. It leaves my skin feeling so soft but not dry, and it has a pleasant, clean smell. I might have to purchase the full-sized product sometime soon!
3. Dirty Little Secret Bronzed Eyeshadow
This shade of the eyeshadow is so pretty! It also isn’t too shimmery and is easy to blend when applied, which is nice because that is sometimes hard to find.
4. Tarte Deluxe Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara
I don’t think I could love this product any more than I do! I have wanted to try this mascara for a while, but I was hesitant to switch from the one I have been using consistently for the past year or so. However, I definitely will be purchasing the full-sized product of this mascara because it is fantastic!
5. Make Up Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation
I have never been a big foundation person, but I am happy with how this shade of foundation blends and matches my skin tone! Covering up annoying blemishes is great, and this product does it well.
6. Firma Beauty 201 Tall Blender Brush
I LOVE brushes! I didn’t know that you could receive a full-length brush in an ipsy bag, so this was a wonderful surprise. It is so soft and works great for blending eyeshadow!
Overall, I have been really satisfied with ipsy. I think with the number of products they give you each month is worth the $10! I recommend ipsy to everyone from makeup lovers to those who aren’t makeup familiar. There is something for everyone!
