With classes ending soon that means summer is very close, especially for those of us attending GCU! I have always loved the summertime because this means no classes, spending time with loved ones, traveling and exploring. This also means spending a lot of time at the movies. During the summer, movie theatres are flooded with people ready to see the next big movie. Summer of 2018 is no exception and there will be many must see movies coming to theatres near you. Here are just some of the movies you ought to see this summer.
1. Miracle Season: April 6th
This movie surrounds the tragic death of Caroline Found, a star volleyball player. The film follows the team as they grieve their teammate, learn how to work with one another, and try to win the state championship. This is a movie for all sports lovers as well as individuals who love a film with a strong female cast.
2. The Incredibles 2: June 15th
Everyone’s favorite movie and superhero family is back in a new film. Yes, the wait is finally over and we will have many of our questions finally answered. In this film, Helen, also known as Mrs. Incredible will be in the center stage while the other family members are learning how to balance their powers along with everyday life. There is a new villain of course and the family, along with Frozone will have to come together to protect the world.
3. Solo: A Star Wars Story: May 25th
Obsessed with Star Wars and have not seen enough? This movie is perfect for you and the whole family! This film follows Han Solo as he meets and becomes friends with Chewbacca and a gambler Lando Calrissian. They will have to work together in order to overcome many obstacles and struggles. As a result, an unexpected hero will emerge.
4. Ocean’s 8: June 8th
Love a good movie filled with an all-star female cast? Then you have to see this movie! The film follows Danny Ocean’s sister, Debbie, who has just been released from prison. Debbie seeks to achieve one of the biggest heists in history but she needs a strong group of women to help her. The cast includes: Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Anne Hathaway, and more!
5. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom: June 22nd
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are back for another Jurassic World film. The movie will follow their journey in rescuing the dinosaurs from the dangerous volcano. There will be new dinosaurs, characters, and challenges.
