Snow Day Survival Guide

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fordham chapter.

YAY IT’S SNOW DAY SEASON! Whether you love the cold or hate the cold, we can all agree there is nothing better than waking up to the sight of a snow covered ground and receiving that coveted Public Safety email telling you classes have been cancelled. So after you turn your alarm off and proceed to sleep for another five hours, you’re finally awake and ready to maximize fun and relaxation on this lovely snow day… but how?

1. Netflix and Grille

Time to relax! Be sure to Netflix and Grille all day long in order to achieve pure snow day bliss.

2. Build a Snowman on Eddie’s

Do you wanna build a snowman? You know you secretly do. Grab a bunch of friends and build a giant snowman right in the middle of Eddie’s, so the next day when you’re trekking to class, you can wish you had another snow day.

3. Take Pictures of a Snowy Keating

Keating looks even prettier covered in snow. So go ahead, take your basic FU pics proudly! Keating would love to star in your Instagram.

4. Wait Three Hours for Pugsley’s

You want pizza delivered on a snow day? So does the rest of the campus. If you’re not down to wait several hours to satisfy your pizza craving, be sure to try University Pizza right around the corner!

5. Catch up on Homework

I know, I know this is not the most fun way to spend a snow day, but sometimes, it really is nice to catch up on homework. An unexpected snow day can definitely be a great time to do some homework and be ahead of the game once the snow melts and your hectic schedule resumes.

6. Snowball Fight on Martyrs’ Lawn

Martyrs’ is the perfect place for a snowball fight with a bunch of people! Definitely try this out with a huge group of friends and a lot of warm, waterproof clothing.

7. Bake Cookies

Cold, snowy days are the ideal baking weather. So get in your apartment or floor’s kitchen and bake cookies! Your whole floor will thank you, not only for the actual cookies, but for the freshly baked cookie smell that will radiate throughout the hallway for hours.

8. Give Thanks

Now that your snow day has come to an end, make sure to thank Mother Nature, Fordham Public Safety, and the snow plowers for making your snow day relaxing, fun, and well spent.
