So, as we are all generally aware, Fordham Dining is not doin’ too hot. Over the course of recent years, Fordham has topped countless “Worst College Food” lists, and because of this, us Rams have had to work with what we’ve been given. Below is a list of five food options every member of the Ramily needs to know is available before it is too late and Sodexo gets the best of them. Consider it a secret menu, of sorts.

1. Food: Honey Mustard Wrap

Where to find it: The Grille

So this might seem like a no-brainer to most, but honestly, I killed far too many tastebuds my freshman year via buffalo sauce before finding out about honey mustard wraps. I’m just here to make this a general PSA so no one else suffers as I did: if you don’t like how spicy the buffalo is, get honey mustard on your wrap instead. You will thank me later. P.S. You can also get the wrap made with grilled chicken instead of fried.

2. Food: Loaded Baked Potato

Where to find it: The Caf

Though there are not always baked potatoes up for grab in the cafeteria, sometimes you can find yourself lucky enough to snag one. If they have baked potatoes, they will either be at the hot station or by the simple servings station (to the left when you walk into the food area). My tip for this is to get a potato, and head over to the burrito line. They can slice it for you and top it with sour cream and cheese…. #EEEATS.

3. Food: Soft Serve Frozen Yogurt

Where to find it: The Grille

I know what you’re thinking – there’s soft serve in the caf, what’s so special about finding it across campus? My answer: everything. The fro-yo at the caf tends to be really watery and to be honest, borderline gross, so fear not fro-yo lovers! Simply go to the smoothie station at The Grille and ask for a cup of vanilla, chocolate, or swirled frozen yogurt. It is on point every single time, and you can even mix oreos in from the stands at the register. PS – it counts as a meal swipe, so like… yes?

4. Food: Perfectly Toasted Bagels

Where to find it: The Caf

As we learned last year, when someone (it was me, this is my written confession, I’m v sorry) broke one of the only toasters on campus, not toasting your bagel can really ruin your morning. Good news is, though, if you get to the caf on weekday mornings, the burrito station turns into your own personal toasting station. The old toaster, may he / she rest in peace, would always either take forever or burn it to a crisp, but this way, it is just right every time. Simply bring a bagel over to the burrito station and ask them to toast it, and choose from a variety of toppings – cream cheese, butter, tomato, etc.

5. Food: Salad With Avocado

Where To Find It: Cosi

Although Cosi is generally pretty strict about what counts as a meal swipe and what doesn’t, they will budge on this one swap. If you’re a vegetarian or just really aren’t feelin’ chicken, swap chicken in a salad for avocado. They won’t charge extra, and it’s delicious. Also, while we’re on the topic of Cosi and meal swipes, their pizza is now a meal swipe… talk about an upgrade.

Good luck out there, fellow Rams. Maybe this will be the year we make it out of the top ten worst-fed student bodies… If not, hit up this list for some out-of-the-box inspiration, and find some new ones of your own!
