With changing leaves and sweater weather, autumn has a little bit of something to offer everyone. For basic girls, especially, the season of apple picking and infinity scarves may be the best time of the year. But what truly makes fall the perfect season for basic girls?
1. Starbucks
By the end of September and well into December, basic girls can be found by the tenfold in their natural habitat- Starbucks. Home of the renowned Pumpkin Spice Latte, Starbucks provides its fans with additional seasonal drinks, such as the Pumpkin Spice Crème and the Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino. During this season, the basic girl typically goes to extreme lengths to try out any new edible item with a pumpkin spice flavor.
2. Candles, Candles, Candles
Beyond experiencing the autumn spirit through taste, basic girls love appealing to their sense of smell in the fall as well. They rush to the stores to purchase candles with scents of crackling fireplaces, s’mores, apples, chestnuts, brown sugar, and, of course, pumpkin spice. They take the candles home and burn them for aesthetic reasons, allowing the glorious scents of fall to take over.
3. Leggings
The season for hoodies and sweatshirts is the time to put aside all shame of wearing leggings and sweatpants for weeks straight. Basic girls love to complete their outfits with a comfortable and warm sweatshirt and top it all off with the classic and timeless messy bun. In the fall, when the weather starts getting cold, basic girls make it a trend to dress for comfort, especially during midterms week.
4. Halloween
Group Halloween costumes contribute to the basic girl’s infatuation of autumn. From Disney princesses to the Plastics from Mean Girls, there are so many options for a group of friends to dress up as for Halloween. Every basic girl spends weeks in advance planning the perfect group costume for a night of fun with the squad.
5. New 1D Album!
For the past four years, November has promised basic girls everywhere a month of joy and music with the release of another One Direction album. They wait patiently for the boys to produce songs that always seem to top the charts during the fall. Just a few days ago, fans everywhere went crazy over the debut of the band’s fifth album Made in the A.M.
6. Endless Insta Opportunities
For basic girls, the Instagram photo is the epitome of fall. Posing in the pumpkin patch or standing in a pile of colorful leaves makes for the flawless picture. A filter that is easy on the eyes can contribute to the perfect social media photo. Topping the post off with a corny yet relatable caption is what every basic girl is after. Finally, in order to achieve the final step of absolute Instagram success the basic girl strives to get as many likes on her picture as possible. The endless amount of photo opportunities that the fall provides makes it impossible for basic girls not to love this season.
7. UGGs
Ultimately, the number one reason that fall is the best season for every basic girl can be summed up into one word: UGGs. The boot craze that captivated the world years ago still has basic girls craving cool weather. When the temperature drops, the UGGs come out and basic girls everywhere can be seen sporting these fashionable and incredibly warm boots.
Overall, for these girls who live for their daily dose of pumpkin spice and the perfect Instagram post, autumn is life.
