Recently, I’ve been watching the Fox TV show STAR, and have rounded up my top three reasons everyone needs to have it on their list. (photo via Fox)
1. The music is REALLY good!
From the producers of the famous hit tv show Empire which is also highly recognized by it’s amazing music, the actors from STAR are amazingly talented individuals that deliver original premium content to their viewers. It’s refreshing to see three new faces that are actually gifted at what they do!
2. They talk about the actual struggle of becoming an artist
It’s amazing to watch the glitz and the glamour that we idealize when we think of artists in the entertainment industry, but in STAR we get to see the actual struggle that the 3 main characters go through. We get to follow the story of girls who came from nothing and do anything they can to strive in the music business. The lies, seduction, and games of it all!
3. It’s about REAL people with REAL problems
With characters from all different backgrounds, different ethnicities, and with different life experiences, the show tackles themes like growing up in the foster system, abortions, drugs, gender identity and many others that are topics young adults should be talking about right now. The show is able to represent each and every person that could possibly be watching it and it also offers people that are going through these situations the hope that they can turn their life around. The drive of the characters is extremely inspiring and I believe this show brings something new to the table besides getting famous just for the heck of it.
