Technology is changing faster than the seasons these days, and before you know it, if you’ve waited too long on jumping onto the next technological trend you’re behind the curve. We know that this also true in fashion, and it is even more relevant as technology and fashion are starting to interconnect. Many feel that combining clothing and accessories with technology compromises the fashion and will never truly catch on. They feel that they can wear clothing and use their technology separately, and there is no need to combine them together. Others feel that it is the logical next step in bringing fashion to a world obsessed with being connected all of the time. Keep reading to decide if you are ready to jump on the wearable tech trend.

Tory Burch x FitBitOne of our favorite designers, Tory Burch, is jumping onto the wearable tech trend. FitBit is a workout bracelet designed to track calories and workouts. Tory Burch has designed this hinged bracelet made of stainless steel to make the FitBit tracker look more stylish.  There is also a necklace version of the tracker available. The FitBit tracker must be purchased separately. You can transform your tracker into a super-chic accessory for work or the weekend, day or evening. You can view the Tory Burch Collaboration here.

Rebecca Minkoff x CasemateAre you ever dying to check your phone during class, even though you know your professor will go insane if they catch you texting for the hundredth time? Well, this new and stylish bracelet by Rebecca Minkoff is here to help. It will notify you when you receive a text or call. Compact phone chargers and new iPhone cases will also be released in time for the holiday season. The line of wearable technology debuted during September Fashion Week. This is an exciting and innovation piece of wearable technology.

Diane von Furstenberg x Google Glass The Google Glass will no longer give off a “dorky” or “geeky” vibe as Diane von Furstenberg has designed these chic looking frames for the company. Five frames in eight different shades are now available on Google and at NET-A-PORTER. You can click here to have a quick preview of them.

Ralph Lauren x Smart Polo ShirtThe classic Polo shirt we know and love gets a major technological makeover. It’s being developed into a compression shirt with knitted-in sensors and the ability to read biological and physical data, such as heartbeat, respiration, stress level, and energy output. The sensors in the shirts then send this information back to your smartphone. Aimed at athletes, the new Polo Tech shirt is black with the signature Polo Player logo in yellow. The new Polo Tech shirts will become available to the public in the first half of 2015. You can view a preview here

Now that you have seen some of the new trends in fashion and technology, do you think the wearable tech trend will catch on? Or will it just be a quick fad that will fade out in a few years. It certainly seems that many are excited for the debut of these items but the question still remains if they will be fashionably functional for everyday life.
