Valentine’s Day Dates in Lancaster

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at F and M chapter.

For the couple who has been dating since freshmen year:

Do something romantic and unexpected, which means don’t go to Iron Hill or OKA. We’ve all been to these delicious restaurants, but to make it extra special, try going downtown. There is a restaurant for every couples taste from Maison to Cocina Mexicana. If you have a car or are up for a little adventure, take a trip to Harrisburg or Hershey. Hershey has tons of delicious places to eat like Manga Manga on 743. Find a cozy place in Harrisburg and then walk across the Susquehanna to City Island. It may be cold, but at least you will have each other to stay warm.

For the casual couple:

Do something silly! When you just start out dating it can be hard to want to be really intimate. Try going to Park City Mall.  Rather than just shop, challenge each other. You could each try to find the goofiest gift for under 10 dollars or you could go into Lush and get samples together. Just because it’s Valentine’s day, it doesn’t mean you have to sit down and get the candles out to impress each other. Making the ordinary extraordinary can make a date! After you are done at the mall, you can either go to the food court or not feel any pressure to eat fancy or you could go to one of the restaurants surrounding the mall. Better yet, buy outfits before hand and then wear them on the date.

Restaurants around Park City Mall:

Bonefish Grill

Olive Garden

Park City Diner

Longhorn Steakhouse

For the singles wanting to still have fun:

It’s another year alone and as a single, you are sick of moping around eating Ben & Jerry’s. We’ve all been there! As a perpetual single myself, I still love Valentine’s Day. Go out and have fun with all your friends. This year go see Fifty Shades of Grey and laugh at all the kinkiness. Afterward, hit up your favorite local pizzeria and have quality friend time. Later go back to your room and rather than switch on Netflix, play some board games with your friends. I’d suggest Cards Against Humanity or Apples to Apples. If you are not tired after that, watch your favorite rom com (like Just Go With It with Jenn Aniston and Ben Sandler) and do face masks and paint your nails. Nothing like just having a good old friends night!

For pizza try: Rosa Rosa, Sugar Bowl, House of Pizza, or Pat’s

I am currently a senior at Franklin and Marshall College in the picturesque city of Lancaster, PA. I am a Spanish and History major and I'm excited to be a writer for HerCampus F&M. I love finding new and interesting ways to design nails and always share it with others. I also love all things of adventurous and exotic natures, stories, art, and cute boys (let's not forget what we really are checking on HerCampus).
Along with being the Her Campus Franklin and Marshall Campus Correspondent, I am also the editor-in-chief of Epilogue, F&M's literary Magazine, Staff Writer for The College Reporter, F&M's student newspaper, and a very active member of Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity. When not hard at work, you can find me writing, reading, geeking out over Disney movies with my friends, or doing art projects.
