This year, the Panhellenic Council and the College Entertainment Committee hosted their annual campus Halloween party at the Chameleon Club on October 30th. While it was held in the ASFC last year, the change of venue seemed like a major success for this Halloween. There was a huge turnout and the building was packed! Many freshmen attended, along with lots of upperclassmen, and everyone had a great time.
To get in, students had to present their F&M IDs. Beginning at 9:30, buses and vans began transporting students to the Chameleon Club, which was a wonderful idea, since it’s about a twenty-minute walk away from campus. Buses ran until 1:30 in the morning, when the party officially ended.
I went with a group of my friends, and we had a great time together. The music was pretty good and everyone else seemed to be having fun. There were many great costumes, such as someone dressed as a squirrel, a girl dressed as a Sodexo worker, and lots of group costumes. The group that won best costume though, was F&M’s newest sorority, Alpha Xi Delta! The sisters went dressed up as Hershey kisses and looked great.
All in all, this year’s F&M Halloween party was a major success. Personally, I’d love to see it continue to be held at the Chameleon Club. It’s a fun opportunity for students to get off of campus and take a break from their stressful weeks. It’s also a great way to start Halloweekend!
