Nail trends are a hot accessory to try out, and vividly change by the season. While it’s well known that spring means pastel nail polishes, several new and exciting styles have been emerging recently! Instead of focusing on spring colors and trends, this season’s styles focus on the beauty of nail fashion and detail. While some of them might sound odd at first, the compliments you’ll receive will be all the explanation you need. Be the first to make a statement with these bold nail trends, and you will never have boring nails ever again!

Negative Space Manicures

This type of manicure is one I know I want to try out ASAP. We’re all so used to painting our nails from top to bottom in polish, but this season, be a little more daring and leave some blank space! This can mean anything from chevron patterns, to empty stripes, to slants and more. Pinterest has a wide range of inspirations for negative space manicures that you can try out that are each unique in their own ways. The best way to style them this spring is obviously with your typical pastels and whites, but sandy browns and bronzes are in this season, too! Gold stripes have been majorly hot this season, especially because it’s such a goddess-like color. Start with white nail polish, then a gold stripe, add a blank space, then repeat—one of my favorite negative space manicures! The shape and styles of your negative spaces can really be spunky and fun, or even inspired by a personal experience. Whichever route you choose, have fun with it because it’s definitely a stylish nail trend that looks super hot and unique!

Nude Nails

Celebrities and other fashion superstars have been killing it with the nude nail trends in recent seasons. As unbelievable as it sounds, there’s A TON of different shades of nude, and it’s best to find the ones that suit your skin color perfectly. Finding a nude nail polish that works well is just as complex as finding the perfect foundation color for your skin. But in the end, it looks flawless! I’ve always found that OPI has great nude nail polishes; you can even spice them up by creating patterns, or painting your ring fingers with dramatic silver or gold glitter polish! Adding a topcoat to this style makes it shiny and professional. If you’re not into just having one color of polish, nude nails go great with silvers and grays, so mixing it up could add some more personality!

Metallic Foils

If you’re like me and love anything that shines and shimmers, metallic foil nails are your dream come true. This style is perfect for silvers, bronzes and gold because it literally looks like your nails are sparkling diamonds and jewels. If you’re interested in using other colors, both rainbows and neon are great for adding a bold pop of color while still keeping that metallic shine! I like to describe this style as a mood ring because it looks like a bunch of different colors shining all at once! It’s vibrant and fun, and a great way to mix colors for a completely new polish style. Pairing this look with some killer jewelry would complete the ultimate nail trend and accessory style.

Studs

What girl doesn’t like studs, especially in male form? Kidding, but actually. If you’re not into having your nails be one screaming disco ball of shine and shimmer, adding delicate, subtle studs to your nails can be just as stylish! You can paint your nails in your favorite pastels, bronzes or nudes, and slip on the baby studs. You can opt for a single stud on any nail, or you can be a little bolder and add multiple to each nail, sort of as a border around either the top or bottom, or both, of the nail. You can also creates patterns with these studs like diagonal shapes or stripes, and if you look hard enough, you’ll be able to find some studs that are more personalized and different than your typical circular stud. Most studs come in gold or silver, but there are colored ones out there if you’re looking for something livelier. Think of it this way: every stud you place is one less spot you can chip your nail polish at! That’s as convenient as it can get if you ask me!
