This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Drexel chapter.

It’s that time of the year again to bring out cozy sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes, and new horrific makeup looks to scare people on the night of Halloween. There are many classic Halloween looks that are never out of fashion. Don’t have a costume for this spooky holiday? No worries – it’s easy to improvise an outfit as long as you have a frighteningly cute or just plain gory and scary makeup look planned out.

Clown makeup is always a go-to look when it comes to Halloween. But, with the recent release of the new It movie, beauty gurus like Promise Phan are recreating the classic Pennywise persona complete with their own spooky twists.

2. Skull

This makeup look is a staple for Halloween. Whether it be a few simple lines, or a full face, the skull face is one that everyone has done at least once in their lifetime. People nowadays are taking their skulls to the next level by adding glitter and making it glam. Pop on a pair of spooky contacts, add a bit of sparkle, and you’re set!

3. Pulled-Up Skin

If you’re into glitter, this makeup look is absolutely perfect for you. We’ve all seen the pulled-up skin and the zippered face illusions throughout the past few years. This Halloween, instead of going for gore, people are glamming it up and creating fabulous glitter bombs on their faces.

4. Unicorn

Unicorns are majestic creatures that everyone is head over heels for. From the pastel shades to the holographic highlights, unicorns have been the inspiration for many makeup trends. This look is perfect for both unicorn and beauty lovers. With a little bit of shimmer and the perfect amount of creativity, this look will have unicorn fanatics turning their heads.

5. Mermaid

Along with unicorns, people find fascination in mermaids. The elegant and intriguing colors of mermaids are perfect for creating beautiful Halloween makeup. Add a twist to the mermaid look by combining it with the skull face and you’ll have yourself a vibrantly gorgeous, yet fearsome look for Halloween.

For those who procrastinated all month and wait until the day before Halloween to figure out what to dress up as, these last two makeup looks are classics that won’t fail you.

6. Porcelain Doll

The porcelain doll makeup look is so simple to create, yet looks so real! Add some fake lashes, a little white powder and darkened lips to trick people into thinking you are an actual doll.

7. Animal

One of the easiest makeup looks to paint on every Halloween is the cat face. However, don’t feel limited to just a cat; be any animal you’d like to be! You just need a pair of ears, some whiskers, and you’re good to go for any animal you want to dress up as. It really doesn’t get any easier than this look and to make it unique and special, you can add your own personal touches!

Whether you want to go all out with a scary, skull face or keep it light and cute with a doll-like look, these trends will help you get into character Halloween night as you dance the night away with your friends!
