The Spill: Why I’m Glad “Breaking Bad” is Over

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DePauw chapter.

So you didn’t watch “Breaking Bad”… like, ever. Don’t worry, we’re both in the same boat. Frankly, all this talk about “Heisenberg” and “The one who knocks” was giving me nightmares consisting of a weird mix of high school chemistry and “The Shining” and the only thing I really know for sure about the show is that the dad from “Malcolm in the Middle” has cancer and doesn’t wear pants while in the desert…

What is this show? Personally, I’m glad its over and here are some reasons why:

1.     You don’t have to avoid spoilers on the internet in case I watch (and by watch I mean marathon all 5 seasons in an ungodly short amount of time) someday.

2.     You won’t seem stupid when you ask if “Los Pollos Hermanos” is a good restaurant

3.     Cryptic inside jokes and creepy hand drawn profile pictures will soon disappear

4.     #BreakingBad won’t be the top trend on Twitter making room for more important things like #TweetYourUrbanDictionaryName or #HonestyHour or #MileyCyrus

5.     You won’t feel anxious because you don’t know who Saul is or why he is getting a spin off and WHY IS EVERYONE SO HAPPY ABOUT IT?

Is he even a real lawyer??

Hey Internets! I'm Laurel and am currently a freshman at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. I'm majoring in Communications and hope to go onto work in online media and video production.
