Daniel Rodefeld ’17

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DePauw chapter.

Attention all DePauw students! There is some new eye candy here on campus! Sophomore transfer Daniel Rodefeld is not only serving up aces on the tennis court, but also is causing a lot of girls to wonder, “Who is that?!”. Transferring schools is a hard adjustment for anyone. But for Daniel Rodefeld, switching from Bradley University to DePauw University is a decision he does not regret.

Her Campus: Hey Daniel! So we know that you transferred from Bradley University in Illinois this year. Why did you decide to come to DePauw?

Daniel Rodefeld: Well it came down to my athletics. I was playing tennis at Bradley, and they had dropped the men’s tennis program so we no longer had a team. Since tennis has always been a big part of my life, I wanted to continue playing so I decided to transfer schools. DePauw fit really well with athletics and academics so it seemed like the perfect fit for me.

HC: So how have you like DePauw so far? Are you glad you transferred?

DR: I’m really glad that I transferred! I like DePauw a lot better than Bradley. It offers me a more complete college experience. At Bradley, I felt like I was kind of suffocated by tennis. A DePauw, I feel like it’s a little more laid back but it’s still just as competitive and the academics are a lot stronger. It allows me to push myself harder.

HC: So I have to ask. Now that you’ve been on campus for almost a semester, have you partaken in any DePauw traditions yet?

DR: Yes I have! I participated in my first Boulder Run over Halloween Weekend. It was more of a tradition thing for the freshmen or newcomers on the tennis team.

HC: So besides playing tennis, what do you like to do in your spare time?

DR: I am very into music. I enjoy listening and finding new music.

HC: So what’s on your playlist right now?

DR: What I’ve been listening to a lot lately is tropical house music. It’s the perfect music if you like to just lay low and chill because it’s very relaxing.

HC: I’ve never heard of that kind of music, but I’ll give it a shot! Well as you know, Greek Life here at DePauw is a very big. Do you think you will rush this spring?

DR:  I am a fall pledge for Phi Delta Theta!

HC: Congrats! Now, a little birdie told me that you are “off the market.” Is this true?

DR: Haha yes I am off the market… I think that is what my girlfriend would call it. I am dating an Alpha Phi named Simone.

Thank you, Daniel, so letting Her Campus readers get to know you better! And sorry girls, this Campus Cutie is already taken!
