This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DePauw chapter.
Do you ever find yourself wondering what it’s like to make a mark on campus within your first months as a DePauw student? Look no further than our Campus Celebrity of the week, Arman Nazari! You may have seen him around with his man bun and contagious smile! In his short time on campus, he has already built up quite the schedule. Arman plays on the ultimate Frisbee team, is a senator for DePauw Student Government, a YoungLife leader, writer for The Odyssey, an Honors Scholar, a Management Fellow, and is on the executive board at Bagos. We are so lucky to have his talents and eccentric personality on campus!

Her Campus: Hey, Arman! Thank you so much for meeting with me today!

Campus Celebrity: No problem, Erika! Anything for Her Campus.

HC: First things first, why did you choose DePauw?

CC: I spent a lot of time choosing between DePauw and larger schools in Texas (where I am from). I ended up applying because my sister, Arezoo Nazari, went here. But once I went on a campus visit, I couldn’t turn DePauw away.

HC: We sure are happy you picked DePauw, Arman! Did you have any idea what you wanted to get involved in before you arrived as a freshman?

CC: Not really! I definitely knew I wanted to play Frisbee and be involved in YoungLife. I was going to try to hold a position on student government. Everything else sort of fell in my lap.

HC: What’s it like doing two fellowship programs?

CC: Honestly, I don’t really think about it most of the time. I just have events for Management Fellows and a seminar class for Honors Scholar. But, other than that, it’s not too difficult.

HC: Wow, most people couldn’t say that. You have some great multi tasking skills! I couldn’t help but notice your writing talents in the Odyssey. Have you always been interested in writing?

CC: Writing has always been fun for me, but I never expected to be a writer in college. Once I got asked to write about something I was passionate about, I got asked to stay and continue writing. So, I’ve just being going on from there.

HC: You’re first article is pretty great… Do you have any goals being on DSG?

CC: I just want to help the school as much as I can; do all I can to make DePauw a better place for students.

HC: Well, you’re making a great start! One last question, what do you hope to get out of your next four years at DePauw?

CC: I really just want to grow as a person as much as I can. If I can leave this campus better than I found it, I will consider the four years a success.

HC: That’s awesome. Thank you so much for talking to me today! It was a pleasure getting to know more about you!

CC: I had a great time. Thanks for choosing me for this article!
