5 Reasons to Get Excited About Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Denison chapter.

Fall has officially begun. As the weather cools down and the leaves start to change colors, some of our favorite things also come back. Here are five reasons we are excited for fall.

Pumpkin Spice Lattes

We don’t care that pumpkin spice lattes have been deemed “basic.” The PSL’s sweet pumpkin mixed with slightly spicy nutmeg and cinammon is a wonderful treat. If you don’t feel like making the trip to Starbucks, Village Coffee and River Road in Granville both offer unique takes on this delicious fall favorite.

Boots!

One of our favorite things about fall is that we can finally wear boots without our feet getting too hot. Boots dominated the runways at various Fall 2015 Fashion weeks. 90s-inspired patchwork boots, furry boots and black thigh-highs were especially prevalent. But that doesn’t mean you have to put away your favorite riding boots or ankle booties!

Campus looks beautiful

Everybody loves a good scenery pic, and Denison’s campus looks especially beautiful in the fall once the leaves have changed color. Also, this is a great opportunity for a prime Instagram.

“Sweater Weather”

Pull out your comfiest sweater and wear it to class! Once the weather cools down even more, this will be the go-to piece in your wardrobe.

Halloween

This one’s pretty obvious–who doesn’t love getting ready for Halloween? You can finally wear that costume you’ve been planning for all year, and it’s always fun to carve a pumpkin with friends and family. Also, haunted houses and spooky decorations make for a good time. If you aren’t the biggest fan of Halloween, keep in mind that candy usually goes on sale around this time!

I am an English Creative Writing major from Los Angeles, California. In addition to my Her Campus responsibilities, I am also the Editor-in-Chief of Denison's student newspaper. I am involved in Greek life on campus as a sister of Pi Beta Phi. I have an insatiable passion for all things Harry Potter. When I'm not in class, you can find me taking long naps, reading, biking or binge watching Netflix.
