The Rise of Snap Queens

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DCU chapter.

We all love a good nose, we’re Irish and we’re good at it. We take pride in knowing all the gossip and enjoy every minute of our friend’s detailed story about the awful date they went on last night. It’s impossible to not be just a LITTLE bit nosey.

With the rise of social media platforms, there’s now many ways to project the personal details of our lives into the public sphere. What better way to have a good nose than to follow the most popular snap chatters in Dublin?

We’ve tracked down some of the best snap queens for all you nosey pokers to follow on Snapchat right now.

Suzanne Jackson: sosueme_ie

One of the first Irish bloggers to come onto mainstream Irish society, Suzanne Jackson has taken over the Snapchat world. Sue has managed to create her own brand including eyelashes, nail varnish and her very own clothing line. Her Snapchat keeps you up-to-date with her everyday life, from her master class workshops, to showing off her cute dogs, to just sitting at home and having a chat about her current favourite beauty products. If you’re looking for a blogger to follow on Snapchat, Suzanne is your girl.

Joanne Larby: themakeupfairy

The Makeup Fairy is a fitness fanatic blogger based in Dublin. From writing her own book, to launching her own line of makeup brushes at the end of last year, Joanne is at the top of her game. Not only is she beauty mad, she is also a gym goddess who loves to show off her amazing figure on Snapchat, making you want to cancel your dominoes order (well, almost). Her snaps include inspirational videos where she influences her viewers to really take control of their lives, push themselves to work harder and if they are gym goers, to train more. She also does amazing designer unboxings that will make you want to sell your soul for a Louis Vuitton.

Laura Whitmore: thelwhitmore

Laura is one of the most popular Irish journalists at the minute. If you want more of a toned down, less blogger style Irish celeb to follow then she is your go-to girl. Her snapchats include pics of her amazing dinner, her A-list friends and artwork that would take your breath away. She’s less likely to have a sit-down chat about her life on Snapchat and more likely to show you instead.

Pippa O’Connor: pippa.oconnor

Pippa started off as an actress in her earlier years and has now become one of Ireland’s go-to style queens. Following her book launch last year, Pippa released her own line of jeans called ‘Poco’ and they’re taking the Irish fashion market by storm. Her Snapchat consists of snaps and videos of her two gorgeous little boys, makeup tutorials and a rundown of her favourite makeup brands she wears every day.

Vogue Williams: voguewilliams

The rise of Vogue Williams in the past year has been epic. A leading Irish presenter, Vogue has taken on amazing documentaries that shed light on society, in a vogueish way of course! Her Snapchat does the same. If you add Vogue, her snaps will invite you into her exciting life that includes jet setting around the world and doing exciting magazine covers.
