I had never heard of “nail art” before until I moved to Chicago. When I saw it with my own eyes, I could tell this wasn’t the “typical” way of getting your nails done. “Nail art” is basically artwork on your nails. The nail technician is the artist and your nails are the canvas; if you let the nail technician have their way, you can come out with a masterpiece on your nails.
I was at an event at Topshop and the nail artist AstroWifey was there doing nails for free. I got leopard print nails and I watched how the nail artist painted every little detail on my nails. It was truly amazing and I couldn’t stop staring at my nails.
I only know of two nail artists in Chicago, so I am itching to get my nails done again really soon. AstroWifey is a nail artist located in the Jefferson Park area. Another nail artist I know of is Spifster. I haven’t had the chance to have my nails done by her yet, but I’ve seen her work, and she is amazing. Nail art is something I believe every lady should try at least once in their life to bring something new to their nails and just have a little fun.
