Plaid Plaid Plaid

Calling all former school girl skirts, plaid is back and better than ever. As recently reported in Elle magazine, there are some hot plaid prints all over the place this fall season. Our favorite here at Colgate is the classic black and red plaid print. It works well with dark shades of blue, gray, olive and of course always goes with black. You can snag a nice flannel like the photo from Madewell.com for $75, if that’s too pricey, take a quick trip to Syracuse, the Salvation Army has hundreds of plaid vintage prints, that will look great on anyone. Oversized flannels work great with leggings (it makes for the perfect comfy chic for a rough Friday strut to class). Wear them buttoned all the way, or open with a tank underneath. When the weather and horrific elements start to creep in, through a cute neutral knitted pullover and peak the collar out, for a classy laid back look.
