Favorite song to run to? Any E-40 song fires me up

 

When did you start running? And what drew you to the sport? I was forced into running at age 7. My mom would drag my brother and me on runs with her. She was infamous for taking us on longer runs than we signed up for…one time she told us we’d only go for a mile run. Four miles later we practically crawled home. Due to this traumatic upbringing, I didn’t even like running until high school. 

 

What is your favorite part of being an athlete at Colgate? They wash my clothes for me

 

Do you have any good pre-race rituals to share? I used to wear lucky socks, eat a peanut butter and honey sandwich, and put on the same deodorant before every race. I’ve calmed down a bit since then. 

 

What has been your biggest accomplishment on the team over the past four years? I am really proud of my cross-country team. We had an extremely young team this year, so I was a worried going into the

season. We ended up having some great races. Patriots was a good example of this—everyone rose to the occasion and we had a much better race than I could have predicted.   

 

Do you plan to keep running in the future? Mom will probably make me

 

Any advice you have to give to athletes just starting at Colgate? Being on a D1 team is a privilege! Don’t forget that
