Halloween Do’s and Don’ts

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Colgate chapter.

.) DO take advantage of the fact that this holiday only comes once a year, so go crazy and wear things you would (hopefully) never wear like, fishnets, black lipstick, etc.
.) DON’T wear makeup that could potentially harm your skin such as greasy paint. It will give you pimples for days.
.) DO carve pumpkins! Carving Jack O’Lanterns in one of my favorite activities to do this time of year. It never gets old!

.) DON’T go around damaging other people’s beautifully carved pumpkins and don’t take them!
.) DO go to any and all Halloween events that you’re invited to; it’s always fun to see everyone’s creative costumes.
.) DON’T think you’re too cool to go to Halloween parties. Get in the Halloween spirit!
.) DO feel free to buy whatever Halloween toys and little gadgets that you can find. They’re so fun to play with and decorate your room with.
.) DON’T get pissed when people don’t understand your costume; just explain it or just do a better job of dressing up.
.) DO make tons of Halloween crafts like this one: http://familyfun.go.com/halloween/halloween-crafts/halloween-decorations/acorn-pumpkins-667914/

.) DON’T go overboard making crafts and putting them all over the place because then you can’t appreciate all of your crafts; it gets too distracting!
.) DO make tons of fun Halloween recipes like this one: http://familyfun.go.com/halloween/halloween-recipes/halloween-cupcakes/creepy-crawly-cupcakes-688979/
.) DON’T do anything that will more than likely get you in trouble. For example, don’t attempt to go to a cemetery because the police look for people who try to get into cemeteries on Halloween and they will probably arrest you for trespassing.
.) DO be very creative with your costume and have fun!!! Remember, Halloween only comes once a year!
