There are all different types of women. Some are girly girls. Some are edgy. Some are sporty. Some are too busy to worry about what style they embrace. Each woman has a special flare to give off to the world in her own way.

If any one of you have seen me roaming around campus, you’ll know that I’m shamelessly that girl that will be late to class because she had to make sure her lashes are perfectly curled, nails painted a solid vibrant color, feet jammed into something with a heel on it, ears or wrists jingling with jewelry. On nights out, I’m also shamelessly that girl that will either hold everyone up for an extra twenty minutes to fix my hair or start an hour earlier than everyone else getting ready for the event.

Is this for every girl? Probably not.

I’m a firm believer in “you do you.” Do what makes you happy. Do what makes you comfortable. Do what makes you proud to be you. However, I cringe every time I hear someone toss a comment like “Ugh. I don’t do makeup. It’s so fake. Like, I don’t need it” or “Nobody has time to care about what they look like all the time. It’s so shallow” whenever they’re just scared to experiment and step out of the comfy leggings and Uggs zone.

Society seems to have created this stigma about pampering yourself or simply caring about how you put together you are. Girls like this are called airheads, shallow, nothing but a pretty face, vain. However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to look your best whenever you can. Not only does it boost your confidence, but also keeps you poised throughout the day to avoid dirtying or ruining your clothes. Furthermore, you are prepared for any possible event or encounter that gets tossed your way during the day. People, especially in the professional world, often hold a higher respect for people who consistently look polished, clean, and presentable.

Don’t be afraid to look your best even if there is no special occasion. Every day is a reason for you to celebrate aspiring to be a better version of yourself. Clothes can bring out your character. Makeup can enhance the natural beauty you have. Hairstyles can alter the aura of your look. You are all beautiful. Don’t hide away from something that enhances you and helps makes you feel beautiful.

I'm currently a junior studying Business Administration with an additional major in Decision Science. Two places I call home are New Jersey and Taiwan. On campus, I'm involved with Dancers' Symposium, CMBA, UMO, and am a sister of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Some of my hobbies include writing, snowboarding, art, dance music, traveling, and running. My guilty pleasures are playing with cosmetics, shoe shopping, and Gossip Girl. You can always spot me on campus in heels (as if I were still in New York City) and holding a dirty chai latte!
I am a junior Materials Science and Engineering mjaor at Carnegie Mellon University, and I am also minoring in Professional Writing and Business. I am a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.  I love TV and trying out new beauty products.  I follow E! on Twitter so that I can stay up-to-date on celebrity news.  I'm royal-obsessed, and I love Kate Middleton's style.  I'm kind of a Sephora addict, and I could easily spend hours there.  I also spend way too much time on Pinterest.  Finally, I love hockey and all Pittsburgh sports.
