Rachel Andrews ’17 HCC Writer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clemson chapter.
Rachel Andrews is a junior Communications major from Toronto, Ontario!

Why you chose Clemson University:

When I moved to SC from Canada 3 years ago, I didn’t know anything about

the area. The one school that came up consistently was Clemson, so I decided

to check it out. After touring the campus, I fell in love with the atmosphere

and knew this was where I wanted to be.

Favorite thing about writing for Her Campus Clemson:

Writing for women on Clemson’s campus has been really inspiring; I’ll be

walking to class and randomly get an idea for an article. It’s also great seeing

what some of the other women on the Her Campus Clemson team have to say.

What else are you involved in on campus?

I’m a member of CLEMSONLiVE, a theatre minor volunteering at the Brooks

Center, and I’m on the debate team.

Favorite Clemson restaurant/bar:

My favorite bar in Clemson is Tiger Town Tavern, aka Triple T’s.

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time I love to sing, so I’m always down to go to a karaoke bar with

some friends or stay in and watch musical movies.

Go to drink downtown:

My go to drink would have to be a rum and coke

Celebrity crush:
My celebrity crush is Miles Teller, he has that boy next door vibe about him.

Favorite Clemson tradition:

I love that everyone wears orange to support the school, especially on

Fridays. It’s such a vibrant color, and it really stands out when most of the

student body wears it.

Ideal/best first date you have been on:

I love being able to enjoy myself and not take things too seriously, so my

ideal date would have to be something low key but a lot of fun. I also really

like competition, so I’d like it if someone challenged me to bowling or DDR on campus.

What do you want to do in your career?

I’m majoring in Communications and minoring in theatre so I can work for a

large theatre venue in public relations or marketing.

Current favorite fashion trend?

With fall around the corner, I’m really excited to pull out my beloved ankle

boots, and probably keep adding to my collection as it gets colder.

What fun things did you do this summer?

This summer I was involved in Grease with the Milltown Players in Pelzer.

Working on that show all summer was such a great opportunity, and it really

brought a new meaning to the song “Summer Lovin’”.
Hey! My name's Liz and I'm a Sigma Kappa at Clemson University! I love my school more than anything in the world and love sharing that with y'all!!
