Meet the Team: Haley Smith

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Clark chapter.

This week we sat down with our Senior Editor, Haley Smith to get her take on finals season, winter break and being a part of Her Campus. Read on to find out more about her!

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I’m a senior at Clark majoring in Management and planning on returning to campus next year to take part in the 5th year MBA program. I’m from New Hampshire – and proud of it! I spent last spring studying abroad in London, and while I was there I traveled to Paris, Dublin, Poland, Scotland and Spain – talk about a whirlwind!

What’s your role on the Her Campus Clark team?

I started on Her Campus last year as a contributing writer and this year I stepped into the role of Senior Editor. Now I edit other writers’ pieces and help the campus co-correspondents post content. I’m really enjoying getting to read our team’s work and seeing how the whole process comes together to create what our readers see!

What’s your favorite thing about winter?

Besides the possibility of a snow day… I love the month of January. There’s something about the start of new year that makes me happy – resolutions are still alive and it seems like anything could happen with the whole year ahead of you!

How do you stay calm through finals season?

I don’t know that I do stay calm! But I do try to make time to relax in between studying, and whether it’s a movie with friends or a phone call to my Mom, I try to remind myself that in the grand scheme, there are things more important than the grade I get on a final.

What are you most looking forward to over winter break?

Getting a mani with my mom and sister. A little bit of pampering and good company goes a long way with me!

Vanilla or chocolate?

Vanilla.

Summer or winter?

Summer.

Cats or dogs?

Cats.

Iced or hot coffee?

Neither – tea!

Parks and Recreation or The Office?

The Office – Jim and Pam can make me smile any day.

Thanks, Haley!
