The Singles vs. Couples Challenge is over, and the results are surprising.
To recap: DateMySchool (the hottest online dating site for college students and alumni) teamed up with GymPact (the team that keeps you motivated to stay fit) to test a popular theory: singles exercise more often than couples. During the week leading up to Valentine’s Day, they asked college students and graduates to sign up for a challenge: each participant had to track their workouts for the week and automatically be entered for awesome prizes if they did. 881 college alumni participated, so what were the results?
Singles did an average of 3.80 workouts during the week, but get this: couples did an average of 3.81! The myth is debunked: only a hundredth of a point separates singles from couples when it comes to exercise excellence.
While the myth was debunked, there were major differences that turned up in the survey. The class of 2012 has the most active singles, while the class of 2009 has the most active couples.
Stats differed by school, too: Texas A&M tied University of Central Florida for Most Couples Exercising, followed by Arizona State University and Washington State University.
Northeastern came out on top for Most Singles Exercising, followed by University of Maryland—College Park and University of Southern California.
