Year: Sophomore

Hometown and Your Favorite Thing About It:

The North Hills of Pittsburgh. I love Pittsburgh and everything it has to offer. We are passionate about our sports teams, there are tremendous amounts of restaurants to eat at, and there is always something to do.

Area of Study and Why You Chose It:

I am studying Biology because it will best prepare me for a graduate program in Physician Assistant Studies.

Favorite Books:

During my childhood I was really into the Junie B. Jones and the Nancy Drew series. As I got older, I read the books that were required for school and books that people would suggest that I read. I recently really enjoyed The Hunger Games and the Fifty Shades of Grey series.

Favorite Movies:

Finding Nemo, The Notebook, Dear John, and really sappy love stories.

Favorite TV Shows:

Dr. G Medical Examiner, Mystery Diagnosis, My Strange Addiction, Gilmore Girls, Dance Moms, Boy Meets World, Spongebob, Phineas and Ferb, Shark Tank

Favorite Foods:

Sprinkles, Nutella, Vanilla Cupcakes, Chipotle, Mac n Cheese

Favorite Musicians/Bands:

I mostly just listen to the radio. I like catchy songs and songs I can sing and dance to (even though I am a really bad singer).

Favorite Quote:

“If it is meant to be, then it will be.” If things don’t work in my favor, my mom always tells me this. She also tells me that if something didn’t work out, then that means that there is a better opportunity that will come.

What do you love most about the springtime?

I love the spring because of the positive atmosphere it creates. Especially after a long winter, the beginning of spring was a happy time. This past week, we had a really warm day where people were hanging out on the quad and just enjoying the weather.

What’s your best advice for students studying for finals?

Start early. Don’t stress. Take breaks. Make lists. Check things off your list to feel accomplished. Don’t forget to eat and sleep.

Which Maymester class did you choose and why?

I am taking the Politics of Being Female. I am taking this class because it is a Scholar’s Course and it counts as a women’s credit. I am excited for the class, because of the feelings of women’s empowerment that comes out of courses like these.

Childhood Dream Job:

I went from wanting to be a teacher, to a hairstylist, back to being a teacher, to something in business, to a pharmacist, to a pediatrician, to a physician assistant, to a nurse, to a doctor, and back to a physician assistant.

Current Dream Job:

Currently I want to become a Physician Assistant, but this often changes. I know the general path I want to be on, which is somewhere in the medical field.

What do you love most about being a Chatham woman?

I love being a Chatham woman because of the sense of women’s empowerment that you get. As a Chatham woman, I was able to find myself and identify my values. I love Chatham women because each and every woman is real. They are themselves and they embrace that. They are not fake and everyone accepts them for how they are.
