Year: 2016

Hometown and What You Love About It:
Warren, OH…I love street festivals, Friday night football games, driving on country roads, and the fact that even if you run away to the city, you are always welcomed back with open arms.

Areas of Study and Why You Chose Them:
I’m a double Major in English & Chemistry. I chose English because I love to write, I chose Chemistry because I’m vaguely masochistic.

Favorite Movies:
I have an infinite top ten, but Sweet Home Alabama & Almost Famous are always top 2.

Favorite TV Shows:
Grey’s Anatomy & New Girl

Favorite Books:
The Time Traveler’s Wife, 1984, Sexing the Cherry, The Women of Brewster Place, and of course, the Harry Potter series

Favorite Foods:
Peanut Butter & Jelly, cashews, gummy worms, and fruit snacks. I have the nutritional habits of a kindergartner.

Favorite Musicians/Bands:
Billy Joel, Florence & the Machine, Sia, Ingrid Michaelson, Led Zeppelin, Kenny Chesney, Wale, Fleetwood Mac, John Mayer, Elton John

What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
The Rea Coffeehouse. If you know, you just know. If you don’t know, go there, then you’ll know.

Childhood Dream Job:
A New York Times Best-Selling Author

Current Dream Job:
Teaching kids to read in a third world country, working for a women’s advocacy group, developing safer ways to utilize clean nuclear energy, starting my own nonprofit organization for single mothers, being a tiki bartender in the Tropics, and still, a New York Times Best-Selling Author.

Why did you choose Chatham?
It reminds me a lot of Hogwarts and they take good care of their women.

What do you love most about being a Chatham woman?
I love that I am never insecure in a room full of accomplished people, that I always feel as though my opinion is valuable, and that my friends are inspiring, kind, intelligent women who would do anything for their sisters.
