Campus Cutie: Natasha Bole

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal Poly chapter.

Meet campus cutie and Argentinian beauty Natasha Bole! She is a third-year Nutrition major who has a deep love for sloths and funny-looking dogs. Natasha is a dedicated, hardworking student who excels at time management–after all, it’s not easy balancing school with two jobs. I delved a little deeper into the life and mind of Natasha by asking her some personal questions.

Tell me some random facts about you!

Most of my family lives in Argentina, so I visit frequently. I like to dirt bike; I love the forest and I am obsessed with corgis and weenie dogs.

Why did you choose Nutrition as your major?

I have always been into eating healthily. I think nutrition is something that is so important for our health. I have wanted to work in the medical field since I was 10 years old. I think majoring in nutrition is a great way to get pre-med prerequisites done, while learning super awesome stuff about food, health, and how our bodies interact with the nutrients we provide it.

What’s your favorite health food?

My favorite health food would probably be blueberries. I commonly call them “bloobs.” They are by far my favorite fruit. They are considered a super fruit because they have some killer antioxidants, which are obviously very healthy for you.

What is your spirit animal, and why?

My spirit animal is a sloth because all they get to do is lounge around, make cool sounds and relax 24/7. Although I am not able to mimic a sloth’s life, it is every college student’s dream to be able to lounge around all the time and be highly unproductive.

What advice would you give to freshman?

I would advise freshmen to enjoy every second of being in the dorms their first year. You will literally never get that experience again. You meet so many people all at once and there is always something to do and you can’t pass that opportunity up. Also, even if you are failing (or almost failing) your classes the first few quarters of your freshmen year, don’t panic. I had a horrible first year academically, but you learn to adapt to the college curriculum and you slowly start to be able to manage your time better and therefore do better in your classes. Live it up when you’re on the meal plan because sometimes making your own food all time can get really tiresome.

What is your favorite quote?

“The greatest gift you can give to somebody is your own personal development. I used to say ‘If you will take care of me, I will take care of you.’ Now I say, ‘I will take care of me for you, if you will take care of you for me.’” – Jim Rohn

This is my favorite quote because you can’t love others until you love yourself, and I think learning to love everything about yourself is such an important and beautiful process. Life is so much easier when you love yourself entirely.

What is a weird fear of yours?

I have a fear of the future, as any one else does, but my fear is pretty immense. I sometimes find it hard to make big decisions because it terrifies me that the decision I make will ultimately change where I end up down the road.
