5 Reasons Why Fall is the Best Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at C of C chapter.

It’s no surprise that fall is the favorite season for many people. There’s so many great things about it! Whether it’s the fashion,  tv shows, or food, there’s just something about fall that makes you so happy when it finally arrives.

1. Fall Fashion

Fall is the coziest season when it comes to clothes. Once the weather finally cools down, it’s time to break out all of your sweaters, boots, and scarves! Fall fashions allow you to be comfortable AND stylish! Also, since you can layer up your clothes, there are endless possibilities for outfits. Sweater weather is the best weather.

2. Fall Comfort Foods

Fall means pumpkin spice EVERYTHING! Of course, the all time favorite is Starbucks’ pumpkin spice latte. But even if coffee isn’t your thing, you can always enjoy fall flavors in other things such as candy, breakfast foods, and various snacks and drinks. Thanksgiving is also in the fall, which means turkey and gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, and lots of pie! Fall is hands down the best season when it comes to comfort food- not to mention Halloween candy!

3. Halloween

Speaking of candy, Halloween is one of the best things about fall. You get to eat a ton of sweets, dress up in fun costumes, and watch all of your favorite Halloween movies. What’s not to like? Don’t forget to watch movies like Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare before Christmas, and Beetlejuice on ABC Family’s ’13 Nights of Halloween’!

4. TV Season premieres

All of your favorite TV shows come back in the fall. It’s the prime TV watching season after a summer without your favorite shows. Once Upon A Time, Scandal, Supernatural, and The Walking Dead, just to name a few. Check out this list of some more shows with new seasons this fall! There’s also new shows to watch for the first time, like Red Band Society, Gotham, and The Flash!

5. Thanksgiving

The food alone is enough to make Thanksgiving one of the best holidays, but it deserves to be on this list for so many other reasons. When you’re in college, Thanksgiving might be the first chance you get to go back home and spend some time with your family. Thanksgiving traditions are enough to warm your heart when the weather is getting colder. Plus, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade reminds you that it’s almost time for Christmas!

There’s just something about fall that makes it the most comforting time of the whole year. Maybe it’s how the weather cools down, or all of the beautiful colors in nature, or the holidays, food, and clothes that come with it. Whatever it is, it makes us really happy!
