5 ways to Get Over the Spring Break Blues

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Buffalo chapter.

We’re a few days back from vacation here in rainy Buffalo, and you might find yourself stuck in the Spring Break Blues. An entire 10 days still wasn’t enough rest for the weary college student so here are some helpful tips to get back into that educational grind!

  1. Take a look at your planner

Along with your (somewhat) organized daily planner, jump ahead a week or two to figure out what projects and assignments you should start working on. If that seems a little overwhelming just plan what you will do for the next 3 days, taking it one day at a time will ease you back into those long yet rewarding days at Lockwood and HSL.

  1. Exercise even a little

I bet a good percentage of students took last week off from their daily workouts. Moving your body for just 15 minutes a day could liven you up a bit from that lethargic and relaxing trip back home this March.

  1. Catch up with College Friends

For those of you not lucky enough to live near and dear to your college friends at home, make it a point to see them before/after classes this week to catch up on those crazy and not so crazy activities you did over break. Seeing familiar faces on campus will spark your interest to dive back into your educational clubs and group study sessions.

  1. Take a greatly needed Wegmans trip

Your fridges and pantries are probably close to empty, being only occupied with dust, tumbleweed, and those 2 week expired yogurts. Stop by Wegmans with roommates and friends to stock up your kitchen with lots of ingredients for family style dinners and a bunch of late night snacks for when a night of drinking comes to an end and no pizza places where found to be open. Kitchen apartment full of food = happy students!

  1. Call your parents

If you did go on some wild Spring Breakers vacation and didn’t go home last week, they DEFINITELY want to hear from you to make sure you’re in one piece and didn’t blow hundreds of dollars all in 5 days. You’ll also definitely hear, “Well I’m glad you had fun!” and even better, “Make sure you start studying for your tests soon!”. Then if you didn’t get the chance to prance around a beach in total bliss this break but got to spend a lot of time home last week, your parents probably miss you even more now. You spent 8 days watching movies and eating home cooked meals with them, the least you could do is call them back up and say, “I had a great time at home, can’t wait to see you in May”.

Spring Break may be over, but your stride to be an A student isn’t! (Maybe a A-, or even B+, but we all know that C’s still get degrees!)
