1. Visit Canalside

Whether you choose to visit Canalside during the day or in the evening, you will always be able to find something to do! During the day Canalside offers various activities including: shopping, paddleboat rides, water bikes, ice cream shops and a handful of new restaurants to have lunch to fulfill your afternoon. While during the evening Canalside offers free concerts every Thursday night. The shows include a variety of artists throughout the summer and are easily some of the best memories of my summer; not only does Canalside hold free concert every week but they also put on free firework shows every week!

 

 

2. Festivals

Buffalo is the home to handfuls of summer festivals! Just to name a few…

  • The Italian Festival
  • The Allentown Art Festival
  • Buffalo’s Chicken Wing Festival
  • Canal Fest
  • Taste of Buffalo
  • Buffalo Pride
  • Niagara USA Wine Festival

And this list is only a handful of festivals held in Buffalo!

3. Zoo

The Buffalo Zoo is one of the biggest zoos in New York state. Home to hundreds of different animals, the zoo is the perfect way to spend a sunny summer afternoon in Buffalo with friends or with a date!

 

4. Visit Elmwood Avenue

Taking a stroll down Elmwood with my friends is one of my favorite things to do in the summer. There are plenty of restaurants and bars on Elmwood to to fix any type of craving imaginable! Besides trying all different types of food, you can stop into the Albright Knox or Burchfield Penney Art galleries and stroll through various shops all within the same few blocks!

 

5. Eternal Flame

If you love exploring nature and going on adventures the Eternal Flame is a must on your summer bucket list! Hiking to the Eternal Flame will be your favorite way to explore Buffalo.

6. Niagara Falls

Whether you choose to visit the American or Canadian side of Niagara Falls your day will be filled with fun! With various restaurants, shops and views of the Falls, your options for activities will be endless.

7. Darien Lake

Darien Lake is a great way to spend a summer day. Whether you choose to spend the day at the amusement park or water park you can always spend the night on the camping grounds to continue making summer memories. Not only is Darien Lake the biggest amusement park in the Buffalo area but they’re also home to some of the biggest concerts of the summer. Trust me, if you’ve been to a concert at Darien Lake you know you are bound to have an exciting night.

8. Bison’s Game

A Buffalo Bison’s game is a great way to spend the afternoon or evening with family and friends. With a firework show at the end of each game you will be entertained throughout the entire game!

9. Visit Different Villages

Whether you choose to visit the village of Williamsville, East Aurora, Jamestown or Lily Dale there are endless activities to partake in. Each of these villages offer live music, various types of restaurants, shows to see, boutiques to shop from and psychic fairs; perfect for a day out with friends or your new crush.

10. Eat

If you’re from Buffalo or have spent any time in Buffalo, you know that a Buffalonian’s favorite thing to do is eat! Buffalo is the home to hundreds of trendy restaurants and family owned diners that will give you the opportunity to eat somewhere new every time you go out!
