Staycation- What to do if you’re staying on campus for spring break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Buff State chapter.

As most of you are aware, our Spring Break is approaching very quickly. Some of you will be traveling to vacation spots for break, some of you will be going back home for the break, and some of you will be staying on campus for break. If you’re one of those people staying on campus for break we have a few tips for you to keep yourself entertained for break!

We know some people work, don’t want to go home, or like most college students are broke and can’t travel away for spring break so we wan’t to give you some tips on what you can do for break to occupy your time.

The first thing you should do is find out if any of your friends will also be staying on campus for break so that you will be able to have friends you can make plans with while you’re on campus. You know the old saying “2 is company, 3 is a crowd” …if you find 2 other good friends you’ll have yourself a party of 3 for break!

The second thing you should do is find out if the campus is holding any events for students that will be staying on campus, if they are you should go and make a few new friends while you’re there.

The third thing you should do is see if any of your friends would want to come and stay with you for break. If anyone else from your hometown is on spring break that’s the perfect time to have someone visit your campus even though it may be a little dead, you can show then the sites!

The fourth thing you should do is find out what’s going on around your area. There is nothing wrong with traveling around alone! You can go to the mall and shop a little, check out some musems, or find new places that you didn’t even know were in the area…explore, explore, explore!

The fifth and final thing you should do is catch up on any class work assignments! We know it’s break and no one wants to do homework for break but you’re already going to be on campus anyway, so why not take the time and get ahead of some work if you can. You’ll be less stressed when classes start back up again.
