How To Balance Your Academic Life and Your Social Life

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Buff State chapter.

Hey ladies,

We know that class work is starting to pick up more and things are beginning to get a bit hectic so we’re going to tell you how to manage your academic life and your school life.

Everyone wants to be able to have their cake and eat it too in a sense when it comes to classes and their social life but not everyone knows how to do it so here’s how you should go about it.

Class work should always come first (ideally). What you should do is get an organizer and schedule times you’d like to get your work done before the weekend hits so that you have free time for the weekend. Check your syllabus in advance for when your assignments are due so that you are able to schedule all  your classes assignments and  get things done in advance so that you don’t have to rush and cram all your work in to a short amount of time. No one likes that feeling of having tons of work to get done in not enough time and having to miss out out on fun things because you waited 3 days before your 15 page paper was due to start working on it.

Try scheduling about 3 to 5 hours out of your day to dedicate to class work. If you give yourself that much time you’ll be able to get a good amount of work done early so that you can just hangout and have your down time.

Make sure you manage to get some fun time in after you get everything you schedule in your planner out of the way. No one wants all their time to be dedicated solely to their class work and not be able to have any fun.

Always remember that class work comes first so never choose going out or partying over getting your class work done. You came to school to learn and get a degree so your fun social life should come after you get things done.
