Buff State Girl Code: How To Make Friends Around Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Buff State chapter.

This weeks Buff State Girl Code topic is “How to make friends around campus”

Making friends isn’t always as easy from some people as it is for others so we’re going to give you 5 tips on how you can go out making friends to enjoy your college career alongside.

Tips:

1. One way to make friends around campus if you dorm is to knock on a few of your neighbors doors and just introduce yourself. There’s a pretty good chance that if you’re a freshmen living in a dorm, whoever your live across from probably wants to make a few friends just as you do and you’re going to be living on the same floor for your whole freshmen year so why not make a couple of connections.

2. If you’re a commuter and you’re looking to make friends try going to meetings for clubs that are under your major or minor. What better way to make friends than in a club for something that interest you because you know you know you’ll have common interest.

3. Joining clubs and organizations around campus in general is a good way for anyone to make friends. All clubs and organizations are listed on Bengal connect and their are so many different clubs around campus that you can join that’ll interest you and introduce you to people that’ll have similar interest such as you.

4. Go to campus events and programs! There are tons of programs that are held all through the week that you can go to and meet people to make friends with. Check the postings on bulletin boards in the union and flyers on the walls, and of course check out Bengal connect for event postings.

5. Say hi! You attract more people with politeness, if you see someone sitting alone at a bench eating or in the union ask if you can sit with them an strike up a conversation. You never know they could be hoping someone will sit with them and that could be your new friend.
