What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten?

“Take everything lightly.”

Who said it to you?

“I read it on Tumblr, it was by this awesome author.”

What’s something you wish you knew when you were younger?

“I wish I knew that life wouldn’t always be so easy.”

When did you realize that?

“I think it was once I entered high school. I realized that the work would only get harder, and in order to find out about things and take advantage of opportunities you have to do it yourself, and not rely on other people to help you. That was the point when I realized I had to grow up.”

What are you most proud of?

“My decision-making.”

What was the hardest decision you’ve ever had to make?

“Whether or not to stay in Belgium or to move here.”

Why did you decide to move here?

“I felt like being adventurous.”

Where do you think you’re going to live after college?

“Not Belgium, and not here. Somewhere else, I don’t know.”

What’s the biggest difference between America and Belgium?

“The maturity of high schoolers and college students. In Belgium they grow up with more responsibility; you’re responsible for whatever you do.”

What’s something you’ve always wanted to try?

“I’ve always wanted to go to India. Interestingly enough, when my cousin was at BU, she was in graduate school doing a medical program. She went to India and she came back and had all this cool stuff like bangles and henna, super great cultural things, and it just fascinated me. So, it’s one of those influences when you’re really young; it just stays with you.”

What’s your biggest fear?

“I guess death. Well, it’s not necessarily death, it’s more like death before I’ve been able to do anything with my life.”

What do you want to do with your life?

“I want to be a musician.”

How long have you been playing music?

“I’ve been playing guitar since I was thirteen, because I liked guitar hero.”

What kind of music would you want to play?

“Rock music, good music. Music people like.”
