First Week Freebies

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

As the Weeks of Welcome come to a close and you put away the free pens, t-shirts, and water bottles from Splash, you may think the “freebies” will stop. But, if you know where to look, Boston and BU offer fun free stuff all month.

1.     Collegefest – The annual event held at Fenway where only college kids are permitted to listen to live music, walk around the famous ball park, and of course, fill your swag bags.

When? September 13th – 11 a.m.

2.     Mixfest 2014 – An annual event hosted by a local radio station that puts on a free public concert on the Esplanade. Giant crowds fill the area around the Hatchshell to watch well-known artists entertain. This year’s line-up includes Phillip Phillips, O.A.R., Christina Perri, and Magic!

When? September 13th – 12 p.m.

3.     Blue Man Group Tickets– Want to see the nationally acclaimed Blue Man Group, but you’re a poor college student? Good news! By signing up to be an usher at the show, you are given a seat in the audience to watch the show for free.

When? All the time!

4.     MFA Student Rate– Just for being a BU student, the Museum of Fine Art allows you to visit their amazing exhibits and famous art pieces, for you guessed it, free! Just show your BUID at the ticket desk and enjoy complimentary access to the thought-provoking displays.

When? Every day!

5.     Her Campus BU/People Style Watch Celebrity Stylist on Campus Tour– Most importantly, bring all of your friends to the fun and free People Style Watch event hosted by the best publication on campus. Try on clothes, get style consultations, and get your hair done by TRESemmé professionals – for free. Lots of amazing treats and prizes can be won courtesy of TRESemmé and ASOS, and the first 200 attendees receive goodie bags. I’ll see you there!

When? September 16th – 12 p.m.
