5 Greatest Highlights of the Annual Scituate Art Festival

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryant chapter.

1. The abundant amounts of FOOD: From the funnel cakes found at the Booster Club, to the delectable meatball subs traditionally served by the North Scituate Boy Scout Troop 2 Booth, food that tingles anyone’s taste buds can be found at the Art Festival.

2. The LOCAL VENDORS: The streets of Scituate are closed down and filled with all different vendors, holding unique products. Wood burning, handmade jewelry, candles made from bees wax, and handmade blankets are some of the products that can be found at these vendors.

3. The SCENERY: The Festival is held in the petite town of North Scituate, Rhode Island. Surrounding the Festival is the North Scituate Reservoir, which during its construction, flooded numerous villages along the former banks of the river. This reservoir is not only a major part of Scituate’s history, but also provides a gorgeous view for those in the village of North Scituate.

4. FRIENDS: The Art Festival is a great place to reunite with friends. On Columbus Day, the Scituate High Scituate Band performs. People can grab a bite to eat, look around with their friends or even watch the players perform in the band!

5. ART: Obviously at the Art Festival there is going to be some amazing art work. From abstract paintings, to caricatures, any type of style can be found. Art work can often be special ordered or customized for the upcoming holidays as well.
