Her Campus: You transferred last semester to Brandeis University – why Brandeis?
Victor Carreras: Hmmm. Well I attended Holyoke Community College for two years, but before graduating from there I applied to seventeen colleges. Out of all them Brandeis just had an effect that the others schools didn’t. It was almost like love at first sight… Also it has a castle on campus and it is near Boston – the best of both worlds.
HC: What are you involved with here on campus?
VC: Well, I’m on the Brandeis Rowing team, part of Brandeis Big Siblings, part of the Brandeis Global Medical Brigades, and was voted this semester as the Charla | Education chair for next semester! I also work at the Library in the Information Desk and Intercultural Center! Stop by and say hi sometime!
HC: What is the best part of working at the Library Information Desk? The worst?
VC: The best part about working there is learning about all the equipment that is available for checking out and meeting new faces on campus. The worst is having to listen to weird conversations that tend to happen between students in the front desk. #awkward.
HC: Why did you decide to do the Mr. Brandeis Pageant?
VC: I wanted to be more outgoing this semester. I figured this would be a great way to break out of my comfort zone and have some fun.
HC: Why should you win the pageant?
VC: I was born a winner. After all, my name is Victor! All jokes aside, honestly I’m genuine and think I would be deserving of that crown…
HC: Where do you see yourself in five years?
VC: Oh goodness! I can’t even decide what I’m going to do now…I really don’t know. For sure traveling and doing service work in other continents. After that, applying to medical schools. Yay, fun! Not really.

Place to eat off campus: Panera… Why? GRILLED CHEESE.
