Who is the Real Joey Baum? You’ve seen him around campus, and shakin a lulav at Chabad but there’s more than meets the eye to this handsome sophmore from California. I got to sit down with him last tuesday and poke his brain.
Brandeis Her Campus special reporter Aliza G. Sternstein, sat down with elected cutie of the week Joey Baum, for an exlusive interview. Here’s the transcript:
AGS: If you’re elected Campus Cutie, what do you plan to do with the title?
JB: Tell all my friends to read Her Campus!
AGS: What is your full name?
JB: Joseph Frank Baum. But all my friends call me Joey.
AGS: When is your birthday?
JB: May 4
AGS: What is your sign?
JB: I don’t know.
AGS: How many times have you locked yourself out of your room?
JB: Never
AGS: Oh that’s very good. I’ve locked myself out of my room 3 times in the past week and a half. What is your major?
JB: Life.
AGS: That’s great. How do you feel about foam?
JB: Foam? I like the foam party.
AGS: What’s your favorite date?
JB: Something involving the beach.
AGS: Which pickles do you like better? The dark green ones or the light?
JB: The light green ones.
AGS: Why do you think the Giants are gonna win the Super Bowl?
JB: I don’t.
AGS: What are you plans for the Brandeis Foam Party?
JB: Go big or go home. I’m actually quoting Johnny Tsunami.
AGS: I often quote that myself. What do you look for in a Brandeis Cutie (female version)? *after a pause, we can come back to that one. How do you feel about chocolate and peanut butter?
JB: I love Reese’s Peanut Butter cups. They’re my favorite kind of chocolate. I eat the outside first and then the inside, but I guess you didn’t ask that.
AGS: Yes! That is the right answer. What is your favorite number and why?
JB: 8 because I like the squiggly [gestures to squiggly in air] you know?
AGS: So you’re Jewish? Elaborate.
JB: Ya
AGS: What is your hometown?
JB: Beverly Hills, California
AGS: How do you feel about Clueless?
JB: Never seen it. *[note: Clueless is my FAVORITE movie] You don’t ask me my favorite movie?
AGS: What is your favorite movie?
JB: Back to the Future
AGS: What is your phone number?
JB: Not gonna happen.
AGS: Where did you get your jacket? **[note: subject is wearing a very bright yellow jacket]
JB: Polo store.
AGS: What do you look for in a Brandeis Cutie (female version)?
JB: Tall, blonde hair and nice.
AGS: Where do you see yourself in ten years?
JB: At the head of the Brandeis Foam Party Committee.
AGS: What is your favorite sports team?
JB: LA Lakers. ***[note: JK he means the NY Knicks]
AGS: What clubs/activities are you involved with on campus?
JB: Mainly the Chabad at Brandeis. I’m a big fan.
AGS: What do you like on your Einstein’s bagel?
JB: An everything bagel with chives and 2 pieces of lox.
AGS: Alright, do you have any advice for our readers?
JB: Go foam or go home!
