This past Saturday, myself and two of the other lovely HC Brandeis staff members journeyed into Boston with the initial purpose of attending the Boston Her Campus College Fashion Week event. While we did go to and enjoy Fashion Week (more on that later!), we also had amazing time being together and exploring the city on a beautiful day. Here’s a little recap of our adventure!

We shopped.

On a mission to find some new fall clothes, we hit Newbury Street ready to shop. We poked around in a few stores, including Zara and Nordstrom Rack, and ended up with a few new basics for the fall weather!

We ate.

Upon discovering our mutual love for food and discovering new places to eat, we set out to have a unique dining experience in the city. While wandering down Boylston, we stumbled upon the recently opened restaurant Dig Inn.  It is a healthy “fast food” place where you build your own “Marketbowl” from the abundant options. I opted for a brown rice base with roasted cauliflower, sweet potato, and chicken. And, of course, I had to add avocado (even though it costs extra—it’s worth it). A healthy and hearty bowl is exactly how I love to eat, so I was very excited to stumble upon this trendy and delicious spot.

Even though we were pretty stuffed from our dinner, we knew no meal would be complete without a sweet treat. There are so many delicious dessert options along Newbury, but we opted to try the brand-new vegan ice cream store called FoMu. Now, I’ve never had any vegan desserts, but I was blown away by the ice cream offerings at this adorable spot. The staff was so knowledgeable and friendly, telling us all about their flavors and letting us taste as many as our hearts desired. I decided on Apple Cider Donut, which was the perfect taste of fall with swirls of cinnamon sugar and bits of cider donut. However, I’m eager to go back and try the other flavors that were tempting me like Cookies and Cream and Malted Cookie Dough.

We walked.

It was a beautiful day to wander around Boston, so we spent lots of time just strolling along and enjoying the day and each other’s company.

We attended the fashion show.

When we finally made it to Space 57 for College Fashion Week, we were stunned at the massive turnout. The line wrapped around the corner of the building! When we finally got in we were presented with a goodie bag and set loose into the large event space. There were multiple fashion shows to watch, a photo booth, a candy bar, and different stations offering everything from eyebrow services to sparkling water. We had a great time checking out all the different styles and activities. Overall, it was a great day in the city, and I loved exploring and spending time with my HC Brandeis friends!
