For many people who have not had the chance to visit Israel, the only information they know about the country is through the media. The Boston-Haifa Connection, a committee sponsored by the Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP), wants to expand the greater Boston area’s knowledge about Israel by bringing 12 Israeli officers to Boston at the end of the month. This unique event will allow the Israeli officers to meet with college students, state legislators, community leaders, and even Governor Deval Patrick.
The program, which is in its third year, is the Boston-Haifa Connection’s spotlight event called the Hatikvah Mission. The officers will be in town during Yom Hashoa, Holocaust Remembrance Day, and will be attending a community wide event that will take place at Faneuil Hall on April 29th from 10:30-12:30 p.m. This is a rare opportunity to hear the soldier’s stories and to learn more about Israel.
