5 Ways to Pamper Your Mom on Mother’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Brandeis chapter.

With Mother’s Day fast approaching on May 11th, it’s that time of year when daughters and sons find the most heartfelt and special way to give credit to their mom. Even more exciting, it’s going to be the 100th mother’s day! Sure, gifts are always a great way to go – they can be personal and your moms can keep them for years. Another way to honor this special day and spend the quality time with your mom that they deserve is to pamper them! Here are some great suggetions!

1.  Spa Day – you know you deserve one and your mom also does! There are some great day spas in the area, like Bella Sante and G2O, both located on Newbury Street. If you are from out of town, find a day spa in your hometown and treat her to a facial, massage or a manicure and pedicure.

2. Make her breakfast in bed – if you are going to be home with her, she might appreciate some breakfast she didn’t have to make. It seems childish, but having her son or daughter make her some breakfast on her special day will go a long way.

3. Send her flowers and a card – if you will still be at school or travelling home, send her some flowers and a card to know she is on your mind and you are thinking about her.

4. Spend some quality time with her – if you are already home, just spend some time with her. Go see a movie, take a walk or go out for lunch with her. Any time you spend with her will be appreciated after your busy life on campus.

5. Give her quiet time – sometimes, there is nothing more your mom wants than a little bit of quiet time. Give her a good book, cup of tea, and leave her alone and let her rest for an hour or two or send her into her room to take a nap.

These are just some suggestions, and a gift is always a great option. If you want to do something a little more meaningful and something that will let you and her spend some quality time with each other, these are the way to go. Whatever you decide to do, make her feel special and give her the love she deserves on mothers day.
